Our home is 380 square meters, half of it built in 1988, the rest added in 1999. The house is in a Contemporary Mediterranean style with white walls, balconies and terraces, and tile or wood floors. There are two master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, three minor bedrooms, another bathroom, and a half-bathroom (toilet). The house is on a bluff with beautiful views of a park, the neighboring farmer's vineyard and olive orchard, and our swimming pool and garden. The salt water pool has a motorized cover and is 14 by 34 feet. The park next to our house is primarily riparian oak forest so although we live in a suburban setting the impression from the back terrace and the back of the house is of being in the country.
Modesto has 200,000 people, a good arts and culture scene (check out www.galloarts.org and www.thestate.org.), a downtown with a 17 screen cinema, library, and over 40 restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Check out the Farmer's market on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
We are located halfway between San Francisco and Yosemite National Park. It is a good location for a regional Northern California vacation. We are two hours or less from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California coast, San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Sacramento. We live in the middle of one of the most fertile agricultural regions in the world. There are walnut and almond orchards, vineyards, dairies, peaches, apricots, and tomatoes. Our city of Modesto is the second most important in the USA for food processing.
Creekside--less than 2 miles away. There are many public and private golf courses in and around Modesto, including two world class courses at Stevinson Ranch and Diablo Grande.
