The house, built of brick and knapped flint, is on 3 floors. The master bedroom with ensuite, on the top floor overlooks a public garden in front of the Roman city wall and the cathedral beyond. The middle floor comprises 2 double bedrooms 1 ensuite, 1 single bedroom and a family bathroom. There is a formal sitting room on the ground floor at the front but we live mostly in the open-plan kitchen/diner/TV lounge at the back. This looks out over the back garden, which is well enclosed, and leads to the garage at the rear. It is a 5 minute walk into the town centre and there is a convenience store about 200 metres away.

The historic City of Chichester is built around its 12th Century Cathedral and fine Georgian shopping centre. It has contrasting architecture, museums, art galleries, historic houses and the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. Our favourite walk is from our front door and along the Roman walls which surround the old city.

Chichester lies between two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the South Downs and Chichester Harbour - as well as other nature reserves, stunning beaches and dramatic coastline to the south. Portsmouth is within 30 minutes drive, with its historic dockyard and ferry services to France and Spain. Central London is less than 2 hours away, either by car or train.

Nearest course is Chichester Golf Club. Their 18 hole Tower and Cathedral courses offer a wide variety of holes, elevation change, mature trees, streams and picturesque ponds. Their 5th hole on the Cathedral is a challenge for even the most experienced golfer. It is 608 yards in to a prevailing wind with water down both sides.
