Vero BeachOrlando - Melbourne - Vero Beach
We are so blessed with wonderful generous residents who support our community. Here is a short list of some of the opportunities Vero Beach offers: McKee Botanical Garden, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Riverside Theater (Equity), VB Museum of Art, Environmental Learning Center, Theatre Guild, Walking Tree Brewery and 4 other craft breweries. We have a film and Wine festival in June, Under the Oaks juried art show in March, Gardenfest in February, and concerts all over town all year long. There are access points to oceanfront parks the entire length of A1A as well as a 3+ acre off-leash dog park. Out west people ride horses, hunt and enjoy bass fishing and airboat tours of wild Florida. We have a tennis complex, 12 dedicated pickleball courts both inside and outside facilities, walking paths under beautiful live oak trees and Pelican Island bird sanctuary w miles of quiet paths of walking and observation. No one is bored unless they want to be!
Vero Beach - Sebastian is the jewel of the Treasure Coast. Recognized in the Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/xaque-gruber/five-reasons-vero-beach-i_b_10709570.html There is really something for everyone here. Cultural arts, theaters, concerts and outdoor activities including Polo, baseball, fishing, riding, kayaking, hunting and lots of golf. So many community activities we can't do it all. Craft breweries and great restaurants, farmers markets and local produce, citrus. Daytripping to the theme parks 90 miles, Palm Beach/Stuart and Melbourne/Cocoa/Cape. A great place to visit, the best place to live!

Larry and I are both Rotarians, he is a PDG 2006-07 and I am a PP 2009-10. We have enjoyed two home exchanges (France and Spain) and numerous hostings w the Rotary Travel & host fellowship. Because we homehost DGEs every year before the International Assembly in San Diego with our Vero Beach Homestay program, we have visited many DGE friends in South Africa, NZ, UK, Sweden, Australia, Spain. Actually would like to see Canada (Calgary, Vancouvrt) and West USA this summer/Fall. We love learning about new cultures and appreciate history and architecture when we travel to world cities and love the peace and beauty of the countryside whenever possible.
