Thames is situated at the base of the Coromandel Peninsula, one of NZ's well known tourist areas. The area has many spectacular beaches, offering a wide range of both water sports & water activities. The area also features a strong arts & crafts culture so dropping into art studios, as you explore the peninsula, is a must. We are on the doorstep of the hiking tracks and huts of the Coromandel Range which provide easy to extreme hiking. Thames is also just a 70 minute drive away from NZ's biggest city Auckland. Within an hour & half drive, you have the thermal area of Rotorua, Tauranga & Mount Maunganui, and Hamilton & the Waikato.
