We are close to the charming village of Ajijic, situated on the north shore of lake Chapala, Mexico's largest freshwater lake, and surrounded by the Sierra Madre mountains. At 5000 feet elevation, Ajijic enjoys a moderate climate year-round, it's known for its cuisine, the arts, visual - music - theatre, and rich Mexican culture, there are many ex-pats from Canada and the United States who live here full time. It is close to Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city, English is widely spoken.

There are two golf courses in the area - Chula Vista Country Club, a public 9 hole par 3 challenging no cart policy course with holes planted into the mountainside and incredible lake vistas. Caddies lunch, driving range and putting green available on-site.
8 miles east on the road that parallels the lake lies the beautiful Country Club Chapala. The member-owned golf course offers a 9 hole course adapted into 18 holes by using double tees on each hole, it provides caddies, on-site cart rental, full-service restaurant, clubhouse and all customary golfing amenities. Member-owned policy welcomes non-member green fees players.

We are a recently retired couple. We live in Alberta Canada in the summer months, and in Mexico during the winter. Our home is in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, near Guadalajara on Lake Chapala - the largest lake in Mexico. Our property is in a gated, quiet cul-de-sac in a lovely high-end residential area, two blocks from the lake, a few kilometers from the quaint village of Ajijic. Nestled between Lake Chapala and the mountains, Ajijic is known for its galleries, fine cuisine at low prices, music and theatre scenes, abundant entertainment, curio shops plus too many other amenities to list. The weather is consistently nice - noted for its perpetual springlike weather. There is a large expat community from Canada and the United States who moved here for many reasons including the low cost of living. We purchased our property here because we fell in love with the area and everything about it after visiting several times. We love the warm-hearted Mexican people and their culture. We also feel totally safe here. We would like to spend April and May, 2021 in France. Our house could be available for two months, anytime from April 1st until October 15th, 2021. We will be spending June until October back in Canada.
