Tintenbar is a small village on the North Coast of NSW,with a country style tea room and café, as well as a friendly local store providing groceries, petrol, liquor and fresh produce. The village has a post office, doctor, tennis courts ,garage and lively music scene in the local hall. We are 10 minutes from the larger beachside towns of Ballina and Lennox Head, renowned for their white sand, surfing ,fishing and whale watching. The iconic destination of Byron Bay is 20 minutes away ,with its stunning views, cosmopolitan restaurants, varied night life and international visitors. The local growers markets abound with fresh produce, gourmet delicacies and local craft items. Many rainforest walks are located close to our area together with scenic coastal paths .
Ballina airport, provides very affordable flights to Sydney(1 hour flight) and Melbourne(2 hour flight); and the international airports of Brisbane and the Gold Coast are approximately 2 hours from our place.

We are a retired couple who formerly worked in the regional health service in human resources and media services. We have had over 20 house exchanges with various home exchange sites and have travelled extensively both overseas and in Australia. We enjoy bushwalking, swimming, golf and gardening , as well as art galleries and museums- and like to socialise with good food and wine! Jennie has an ongoing interest in theatre and music and Peter is a keen follower of politics and media broadcasting. Our children are grown up and live in various parts of the country and the world.
