I love to visit Europe every year to enjoy the stark difference of living in a modern country, such as Australia.
I lived and worked in London for many years, residing in Pimlico and Balham. The central location meant lots of young Aussies visiting us and helping them to find their feet on their (mostly) first trip to the UK.
With 2 little grandsons in Brisbane now, i don't tend to go away for 4 months at a time, but up to 8 weeks is likely to be the norm.
Am not into shopping, golf or extreme trekking on difficult terrain - but love theatre, different architecture and landscape; country walks and good food.
Have swapped homes around 40 times since 2014 when i discovered homeexchange.com. This site has now amalgamated with what appears to encourage air-bnb type arrangements for 'points', so I thought to find more like minded travellers for traditional home swap. I usually travel with a friend andwe will look after your home with great respect. Mostly when we leave a home, you would hardly even know we had been there. Car exchange can also be done easily, as I have insurance to cover any driver over 25 with a valid drivers licence.
