A spacious ocean view home with 2 complete living levels. Each level has a full kitchen, living room, 2 baths, laundry and 2 bedrooms. Meals on the outside lanais are real memory makers for our guests. Within 45 minutes you can be hiking tropical mountain trails, treading along historic Hawaiian coastal paths, frolicking on the island's most popular beaches, golfing, snorkeling with dolphins & Hawaiian sea turtles or night diving with manta rays. 5 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from town. Our house is adult and child friendly.
This ocean-view home is minutes from tropical mountain trails, historic Hawaiian ocean side trails, the best beaches on our island, & excellent golf courses and the 2 largest city on the Big Island, Kona (on picturesque Kailua Bay) where shopping and restaurant choices abound.
Kailua Kona is a relaxed Hawaiian town circling pretty Kona Bay. It is on the sunny side of The Big Island so you should be blessed with balmy weather...not too hot or too cool. The town has multiple restaurant and shopping options to tempt you. World famous Kona coffee is cultivated in the hills overlooking the town. Water activities rule: surfing, para sailing paddle boarding, scuba diving, fishing, boating and more. Within one day you can circle the island, tour 2 National Parks, & see an active volcano. You might be tempted to visit our green sand beach or drive to the top of Mauna Kea mountain (13,796 ft.). If you are very lucky it could be capped with snow!

Jim is a retired US military officer & Carol is a silver jewelry and fused glass artist. We raised 6 children while living in multiple locations within the USA and abroad. Hawaiian born Carol loves living back in the islands now. However traveling is in our blood so we do take many trips off island. Recent trips have included Bail, Okinawa, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Canada. We have successfully traded our island house several times. With 9 grand kids living in the continental USA we have hosted large family groups in this house with ease. We love it when longtime friends from all over the globe come to visit us as well. 2 kitchens and 2 laundry set ups are a big help. With fore planning you could stay in one entire level of the house even if we are in-residence at the time.... making calendar dates very flexible. While living on the mainland USA we owned 3 motor-homes and toured every state. Now we wish to explore overseas places we have not yet been to and return to some of our favorites. We do of course travel to our kids' homes for extended periods......leaving many weeks available for non simultaneous exchanges.
