Home Exchange, Short-term Exchange (2-5 days), Open to offers, Hospitality Exchange, Non-simultaneous Exchange, Long-term Exchange (1 month plus), Mid-term Exchange (2-4 weeks)
We have often done a swap for six weeks or more for large cities. We enjoy cities but also using the swap as a base to explore a wider area.
Our house is in a community of three level Victorian Terrace Homes with a central communal courtyard/garden featuring an attractive fountain. A 'lock-up and leave' with great security. From the front of the house and upstairs balcony we look over the internal garden of camelia trees. From the back we look across a wide street to some attractive office buildings. We can walk to restaurants, entertainment, supermarket, pubs, shopping etc but also can pop downstairs to the cars. There is a BBQ and outdoor table plus communal outdoor seating. Outside our door is one of the largest domains in Auckland with trees, great walking, the Auckland Museum and Winter Gardens. We have a regular cleaner every second week and friendly professional neighbors to share a drink with. There is also a caretaker and gardner for those things that need doing.

Al the normal city things. Excellent food from the not too expensive to the outrageous. Theatre, music, comedy, art, zoo, Museums.
We live in Newmarket; a well established central inner suburb which has a combination of residential, retail, restaurants and offices. We are also a 20 minute walk from the central city or a short bus/train ride and walking distance from the Parnell boutique shopping area. There is excellent public transport but most things are within walking distance. We seldom need to drive but the motorway is near by for when escaping from the city. Within half an hours drive you can either be walking in a regional park or at the beach. Within a ferry ride you can be on one of Auckland's beautiful islands. Within a few hours of driving you can be lost on a mountain.
Quiet paradise in the heart of the city Easy walking or public transport everywhere including Lime scooters. A small community with privacy or be social
The map marker is a general indicator of the local area only.

There are many golf courses around Auckland but none in walking distance. I am not a golfer.

We are empty nesters and retired, and in our early sixties, and mostly just the two of us traveling. We enjoy travelling. Especially on our touring bikes exploring out of the way places. We prefer longer term home exchanges (one to three months) when visiting cities overseas. If in New Zealand short breaks are great. If you live in an interesting city or area we could be interested in exchanging.
Our kids are in their late twenties and and very much doing their own thing. Our daughter completed a business degree, and with our son-in-law now have their own daughter, who we are very involved with. Our son completed a software engineering degree and now runs his own very successful software company. He lives in NZ but is often in the States. Sometimes they join us but they still have mortgages and that thing called work.
We enjoy cycling, walking, theatre, sightseeing, most music and real conversations where you can have your own opinions.
