We have a modern detached 4 bedroom home, with a lovely west facing garden and everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The house has 4 bedrooms, one of which is en suite, and a second bathroom and three further bedrooms. There is a fully fitted kitchen which was only installed two years ago, a dining area, sitting room, and a beautiful sun room for relaxing or just enjoying the view. There are open fields behind us so the garden and the house is not overlooked. We also have a holiday home in Central France, so a non simultaneous exchange is a possibility, although probably without a car.
We are close to Hadrian's Wall, close to the beautiful Northumbrian coastline with it's castles and history, an hour's drive from the Lake District, and less than two hours by train from historic York. Corbridge, a historic Roman town with a population of around 3,500, has all the shops you could want, several inns and restaurants, and the famous Roman site of Corstopitum is within 2 miles. The village centre is a 20 minute walk. Newcastle on Tyne is our closest large city with theatres, night life, shopping malls, and is less than half an hour away by car, bus or train. Newcastle International Airport is a 25 minutes drive. Alnwick Castle (Harry Potter fame)and Alnwick Gardens (Duchess of North'd) are an hour away!
Nearest golf course - Hexham, 4 miles away. We don't play, but there are many courses within a few miles including Bamburgh, a coastal site with amazing views, and Slaley which has hosted international competitions.
