Tasmania River’s Edge Home
ID #2234
Our home is almost new - built in 2011 for our retirement. It has modern fittings and finishes in the bathrooms and kitchens and is spread over 2 levels. Upstairs, there's an open concept living/dining/kitchen area as well as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is also a large undercover verandah overlooking the river which is ideal for relaxing, entertaining and barbecuing. Downstairs there is a second living/dining/kitchen area, a further 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The living area and both bedrooms open onto a terrace which also overlooks the river. This arrangement allows for two completely separate self contained living areas, one upstairs and one downstairs. Our home includes luxuries such as a steam room and spa.
Our home is in the middle of one of Tasmania's premium wine growing areas, the Tamar Valley, where there are over 30 wineries. We are 20 minutes drive from Launceston, Northern Tasmania's largest town, which has many gourmet restaurants; 30 minutes from the nearest ocean beach; one hour from Barnbougle Dunes, ranked as one of the world's best golf courses; 2 hours from the Great Lakes, known for their fly fishing; 3 hours from many other attractions, including: Freycinet National Park, home to Wineglass Bay and Saffire (voted the world's best boutique hotel in 2014); Cradle Mountain, one of Australia's most beautiful wilderness areas, with some spectacular bush walking tracks;and the Bay of Fires conservation area.
