Taupō; in the centre of NZ’s North Island, sits on the shore of Lake Taupō. The town has everything you need; delicious restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions and plentiful outdoor activities, without the congestion of a big city. Taupō is internationally recognised for mountain biking with over 220km tracks; from grade 1-2 family and e-bike tracks to overnight adventures, grade 5 downhills and mtn bike tracks. It’s accredited ‘silver’ by the International Mountain Biking Asstn. There’s also a variety of long scenic trails. The area is a rich geothermal region with steaming valleys and healing hot springs. The lake and local rivers offer world-class trout fishing, surrounded by untouched forest. Three towering volcanoes, situated in the World Heritage Tongariro National Park provide a stunning backdrop.

There are seven golf courses in the Taupō region. Two are nationally-ranked courses, including the award-winning Jack Nicklaus The Kinloch Golf Club Course which is rated number three in New Zealand, and Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary comes in at number seven.
Taupō Golf Club is an 18-hole course, and Wairakei Resort 9 Hole Golf Course and Kinloch Village Golf Course are both 9 hole.
Just an hour’s drive away is Rotorua, which boasts one of New Zealand’s leading golf courses; Arikikapakapa Rotorua Golf Club, an 18 hole, par 70 course.
Both region’s provides variety and challenge with many holes played over and around both dormant and active thermal areas.
