Edinburgh Terraced House, 3/4 bedrooms, 15 mins to city centre
Our home is in a terrace, built in the 1920s, with a small, private and sunny garden at the back.
The master bedroom and main guest bedroom each have king sized beds, the 3rd bedroom has a single bed, and a large single sofa bed is available in a ground floor sitting room. There are 2 bathrooms (neither are en suite), one has a lovely spa bath, the other has a powerful shower.
The house has central heating throughout and underfloor heating in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. There is fast wifi and cable TV.
Although the house is not wheelchair accessible, it is suitable for someone with reduced mobility. There is a comfortable sofa bed in a separate ground floor sitting room and a downstairs shower room with a toilet and shower (and a shower stool).
A car may be available for exchange, subject to discussion and with insurance approval. It is an 13 year Ford Fiesta in good condition.
Edinburgh requires no introduction. It is Scotland's capital city, it has a wealth of theatres and galleries and holds various festivals through the year. It is a compact city which is easy to get around on foot, though it also has an excellent bus service. Edinburgh is a good base for exploring Scotland more widely.
Our house is in the Trinity area, in the north of the city, it is quiet and residential with a mix of families and retired people. There is unrestricted free parking on the street outside the house and no passing traffic.
There is an excellent bus service into Edinburgh city centre (10-15 mins), or if you feel energetic, you can walk there in about 30 minutes. We are right in the centre of the North Edinburgh cycle path network, so great for walking, running, or cycling. It is about a 15 minutes walk to the Botanic Gardens. The location makes it easy to get out of the city to explore further afield, to the highlands or elsewhere in Scotland.
There are a few small shops and some good cafes and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There are large supermarkets within walking distance, or a short bus/car journey away.
There are many golf courses in Edinburgh, East Lothian and Fife, including at St Andrews, the home of golf.
