Carmel Cottage in Manzanita is on Carmel Ave., located 1 block south of the main street of Laneda. And one block from the center of Manzanita Beach. That 6 mile long beach is the most beautiful on the Oregon Coast. Our cottage is a comfortable 2 bedroom, 3 bed plus pull-out sofabed, with a modest updated kitchen, laundry facilities, good size LCD TV with cable. The propane fireplace provides warmth, and the stainless barbeque in back grills veggies, fish or meat very nicely.
From downtown Portland, which is active but also congested and noisy, coming to Manzanita is a glorious break from urban life. As you travel through the Coast range there will be beautiful scenic overlooks, forests, and sunsets. Indeed the highway to the beach is called Sunset Highway. You can travel about, relax in front of a fire with a good book, walk the beach, or be as active in Nature as you wish. Even small unique shops to enjoy.
Manzanita is a calm quaint beach town on the North OR Coast. It's about 90 minutes from Portland, the biggest city in Oregon. And from Manzanita it's easy to explore the entire Coast, from Astoria in the North to Newport in the middle and even the South Coast. There is lots of hiking, camping, view points, a mountain to climb. You can fish, crab, boat, SUP (stand-up paddle), kayak, surf and much more. A place to connect with nature, every season of the year.
There is a very scenic 9 hole executive golf course, well-kempt with some signature holes like Hole #5, an elevated tee.
