Black Hills Overlook
Our spacious modern home overlooks the Englewood Valley in the South Dakota Black Hills. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, family room, living room, dining room and deck. At our 11 acre rural property in a pine forest you can enjoy nature in a peaceful setting, view deer, turkey, hawks and other wildlife and hear coyotes sing at night. The house is 8 miles from Deadwood, 20 miles from Sturgis (famous motorcycle rally) and 50 miles from Rapid City airport. Closest stores are 4 miles away. The 109 mile Mickelson Trail (hike and bike) is one-half mile from the house. Nearby attractions include Spearfish Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Devils Tower.
The Black Hills of South Dakota are known for scenic beauty, abundant wildlife, historic attractions and American Indian sacred places. The historic gold mining and Wild West towns of Lead and Deadwood are nearby, as is beautiful Spearfish Canyon, with excellent trout fishing and hiking. Sturgis, home of the world-renowned motorcycle rally in August, is 30 minutes away. Mount Rushmore Memorial and Crazy Horse mountain carving are a 45 minute drive. Our house is located on the 109-mile Mickelson bike trail through the Black Hills. Air travel connections to the area are through Rapid City, SD, 50 miles away. Interstate Highway 90 is near, for trips to South Dakota Badlands and Devils Tower and Yellowstone Park in Wyoming.
Lead Golf Course (9 hole, par 36, 3331 yards, established 1922) is five minutes away. Highest course west of Rocky Mountains at 6,200 feet, it is located in a beautiful pine forest. Tomahawk Lake Golf Course (9 holes, par 36, 3390 yards, established 1930s) is 15 minutes away and also beautiful. Both are open to the public.
