You are a 2 hour drive to Victoria, BC. and a 45 minute drive to a ferry that will take you to Vancouver for a side trip. Internationally popular Tofino and beautiful national old-growth parks and Long Beach are a 3 hour drive. Parksville has the nicest Mediterranean type climate in Canada and there is so much natural beauty to explore on this island.
Parksville is located on the East Coast of Vancouver Island and is in a general area known as Oceanside. Parksville is a very temperate climate. Summers are very warm - winters involve rain and a bit of snow. Parksville, located so close to many parks, hiking, waterspouts and skiing is a popular tourist spot and is all a popular retirement destination. All amenities including a Costco within a 20 minute radius. Very nice golf courses nearby.
The map marker is a general indicator of the local area only.

I don't know much about golf but there are several courses nearby. Fairwinds is probably the nicest. I believe all are open to the public.

We are retired Professionals and we have done extensive world travel including home swaps. We are looking forward to spending more time in one place and really getting to know it. John is a big hiker and I, Lynn, am passionate about all things equestrian. We both love reading and following sports. Our location on Vancouver Island is really special and it would be hard for anyone not to enjoy it. Many of us who live here think we have a well kept secret to this beautiful place. We are right on a very large beach and next to a beautiful provincial park. The weather here is very temperate.
