Toronto has some of the best museums and art galleries in Canada as well as arenas for leading sports teams. There is an Opera House for the Canadian Opera Co. and the National Ballet of Canada. Areas of Toronto, such as Yorkville, contain many private art galleries as well as outstanding shops. The city has a wide range of architectural styles, a below ground shopping area called the PATH (under the downtown skyscrapers), first class restaurants and markets and historic areas such as the St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District.

This location is in the northern section of the City of Toronto with a nearby subway to downtown and other city neighbourhoods. It is near Yonge St (the city's main st.). Toronto is Canada's business and English cujltural capital and most theatres, concert halls, sports arenas are close to this subway line.

Retired from the City of Toronto Investment Department, I enjoy travelling and have a particular interest in architecture, history, the visual arts,  the design of cities and beautiful scenery. Have been a member of the downtown Rotary Club for over 30 years. I very much enjoy living in Toronto, near a subway to downtown, but would like to spend time exploring other cities and their surrounding countryside. Am particularly looking for a warmer climate to visit during our winter months, although other times during the year would also be OK.
