Leeds is a lively vibrant city. 15 minutes train ride away from home and you are in the city. It has some fabulous famous shops such as Harvey Nichols and John Lewis, separate to the wonderful Trinity shopping Centre.
Restaurants and Bars are in abundance, each time we head to the city we find a new place- its never boring!
The Royal Armouries are a big attraction and often hold special events. There are several wonderful theatres and excellent cinemas. Leeds has a large arena to host the 'Mega Stars', Elland Road Football Ground for Leeds United and Headingley Stadium for both Leeds Rhino's Rugby League and the Famous Yorkshire Cricket Team.
Bradford is also nearby and has the famous National Film and Photography Museum as well as the magnificent Alhambra Theatre.

Guiseley is a small town/suburb approximately 10 miles north west of Leeds. There are several nice restaurants and bars within walking distance of our time house and three great Supermarkets. In a semi rural area, it is an ideal base for exploring both North and West Yorkshire. Ilkley Moor and Otley Chevin are both within walking distance and it is a haven for cyclists.
There is a regular train service to the lively city of Leeds, to Bradford and beautiful Ilkley- all are a 15 minute journey. Market towns Otley and Skipton are a short drive away and the beautiful Roman Spa town of Harrogate is a 20 minute drive. York is 1 hour away. Leeds/ Bradford Airport is just 3 miles away.
The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are an easy day out. The East Coast or the Lake District in the West are both a two hour drive away.
We are equidistant from both London and Edinburgh. There is a fast train to London which takes just 2.5 hours

The map marker is a general indicator of the local area only.

There are several golf courses in the area. All very diverse. We can offer some advice as to which might be the best one for you depending on your preferences.

Barbara is a semi retired Nursery Nurse and Julian still works as a self employed Sales Executive. Over the last three years we have been renovating our bungalow... but its almost finished! We are now ready to begin our other main hobby of travelling. Exploring is our favourite pastime, both in UK and overseas. Julian is a keen photographer and likes to catch' that perfect composition'- well at least he tries!  He also enjoys a good game of golf whenever the opportunity arises.Besides travelling,Barbara enjoys pottering in the garden and just being outside. Upcycling furniture is another favourite hobby along with meeting friends and just enjoying life. We would like to spend the next few years travelling and visiting interesting places, preferably away from the tourist track. We enjoy being part of the local community rather than in an English Bar! We are looking forward to exploring and having some new experiences.
