The condo backs onto protected lands with walkways and cycling paths to and from the Ottawa River, beach and downtown Ottawa. Public transit to downtown Ottawa (20 minutes) is a three minute walk away.
Westboro is one of the most unique and diverse neighbourhoods in Ottawa. You’ll enjoy tree-lined streets, shop in boutiques and popular stores, spend time in welcoming outdoor spaces, dine at Ottawa’s trendiest spots and enjoy the natural beauty of Westboro Beach and the scenic views of Gatineau Hills.
In the summer it is a hiking and cycling paradise with easy access to a local beach and the Ottawa River (great for canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting). In the winter, the Gatineau Hills offer local skiing options, with more advanced slopes within a 2 hour drive both east and west of the city.
Downtown Ottawa, with all of its museums, art houses and theater, is a 15 minute public transit or 30 minute bike ride away.
Ottawa is Canada’s capital city, in the east of southern Ontario, 2 hours west of Montréal and 2 hours north-east of Toronto. Sitting on the Ottawa River, it has at its centre Parliament Hill, with grand Victorian architecture and museums such as the National Gallery of Canada, with noted collections of indigenous and other Canadian art. The park-lined Rideau Canal is filled with boats in summer and is transformed into the world's largest outdoor ice-skating rink in winter.
Ottawa is the most educated city in Canada, and is home to a number of post-secondary, research, and cultural institutions, including the National Arts Centre, the National Gallery, and numerous national museums. A city of weather extremes, it needs to be explored in both winter and summer to have a true appreciation of its beauty.
We do not personally golf, and our knowledge of this sport is scant. However, I do know that there are a number of courses within a 10 minute drive of our home, both on the Ottawa (Ontario), and on the Aylmer (Quebec) sides of the river, based on the number of neighbours I see with golf bags riding the elevators all summer!
