El Gouna is the best place for all round sunshine so a great place to spend the winter in particular
Our lovely one bedroomed apartment in El Gouna, by the Red Sea has everything you want for a self-catering holiday. It is a good size and the kitchen is well appointed with washing machine, large fridge freezer, oven and hob should you choose to cook in. The bedroom has 2 single beds which can be made into one very large double bed. There is a lot of storage and also a safe in the cupboard.
In the lounge is a sofa bed so you can sleep 2 children there or an adult if you want to.
The TV has many channels with several languages and there is a dvd player and lots of dvd's and some books. There is a telephone for calling within El Gouna (free) if you need a taxi or TukTuk, or want to order a take-away from the local Vietnamese restaurant for example.
The pool is directly outside the door and is shared with 8 apartments only. It is not heated so can be a bit chilly in the winter months but you can go to the Sheraton hotel heated pool just 800m up the road if you want to.

El Gouna is like no other place in Egypt! It is exceptionally clean and no-one is allowed to bother you at all which means even as a single woman you can walk around at night on your own safely. There is lots of security everywhere and no-one is allowed onto El Gouna without showing their ID.
You can do literally every sport imaginable from golf to water sports, tennis, table tennis, horse or camel riding, desert trips, boat trips, sub aqua, water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, catamaran, quad biking, go karting, even go to the Opera! The second golf course is just opening and the first course is in excellent condition and a good test. There is also a very nice practice area.
Please don't look upon El Gouna as other areas of Egypt like Cairo (5 hours away) and Luxor (3 hours away). It is clean, hassle free, safe and a pleasure to be in. You can walk everywhere or take a TUKTUK for 50p, or a taxi for £1. There is a hop on hop off bus which costs about £2 per week.
The map marker is a general indicator of the local area only.
Boating/Sailing, Fishing, Galleries/Museums, Golf, Historical Sites, Horse riding, Public Parks/Gardens, Public Transport, Restaurants, Shopping, Sightseeing, Tennis, Walking
The golf course is a five minute ride away - it's in lovely condition and is rarely busy. The second golf course now has 9 holes open.
Locally there are 2 more courses - Makadi Bay and Sulten Bey, both of which overlook the sea.
Note: It is fully booked until end of April 2018.

We are Andy (69) and Dawn (57), a semi retired couple who travel a great deal all over the world. Andy is a retired Accountant turned 'Handyman'. Dawn has her own business organizing veterinary student placements around the world, hence the travel. She takes her work with her and as long as she has Internet can work wherever we are.We are keen golfers, Dawn also teaches squash, windsurfing and sailing. We are very neat and tidy and expect our home to be kept with the same respect as we will keep yours. We don't smoke, Andy is a light drinker, Dawn teetotal. We love animals and are happy to look after pets if necessary. We are members of our local Church in UK and also one in S Africa where we spend quite a bit of time. It's always a pleasure to seek out the local Church when we are traveling too.We have a second apartment available in Sarigerme called 'Venus' too (not listed on site). We are coming to come to Florida from Nov 2018 - Jan 2019, and need exchanges particularly around the Orlando area as we are looking to purchase property there but any area will be considered. We're looking to come to Australia in 2020 (Jan/Feb/March). We look forward to exchanging with like-minded people so do contact us with suggestions. We've done over 20 exchanges already and love exchanging.Non simultaneous usually works better for us, but we can sometimes do simultaneous. We are also looking in the future for long term exchanges - we want to spend our time in hot countries and prefer a place with a pool but will consider anywhere. We have property to exchange in St Andrews (Scotland), El Gouna (Egypt) and two apartments in Sarigerme,(Turkey).
