We live in a detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac with very friendly neighbours There are views over the moors to the front and walks onto the hills from the back garden (recently landscaped).

The kitchen has been recently refurbished. There are three bedrooms (one en-suite with shower) and one family bathroom.

Glossop is a small town with supermarkets and a variety of shops. To the east is the Snake Pass, leading to the Ladybower Reservoirs (where the Dambusters practised) and to Sheffield (great shopping at the Meadowhall Centre). Kinder Scout is a couple of miles away, with great walking over the Black Peak summits. The beautiful limestone scenery of the Derbyshire Dales is about 30 minutes drive to the south - great walking here! Trains from Glossop take you to Manchester in half an hour - for shopping, theatres, concerts, the cathedral and sporting venues - Man City, Man United, Old Trafford.

We would prefer to avoid school holidays, if possible.

Glossop became a borough in 1866 and in this period several fine buildings were constructed around the new centre of the town at Norfolk Square - the Town Hall and the Market Hall to name just two. Glossop is a thriving, prosperous town with interesting sights, a good shopping area, two lovely parks, a swimming pool, gym and many opportunities for eating out. It occupies a strategic position at the western edge of the Peak and provides an excellent base for accessing the Pennine Way and for walking in the Dark Peak, including Kinder Scout and Bleaklow The drive west across Snake Pass towards Sheffield is dramatic and beautiful. The Derbyshire Dales are only a short drive away, with their contrasting scenery and beauty.
